Determine your eligibility: to be eligible to make Aliyah, you must meet certain criteria. It is enshrined in Israel’s Law of Return, which accords any Jew (deemed as such by ‘halakha’ and/or Israeli secular law) and eligible non-Jews (a child and a grandchild of a Jew, the spouse of a Jew, the spouse of a child of a Jew and the spouse of a grandchild of a Jew).

Research your options for immigrating: there are many programs available to help individuals make Aliyah, such as the Jewish Agency’s Aliyah program and Nefesh B’Nefesh. Research these programs and determine which one is right for you. You can make Aliyah from within Israel and from abroad.

Gather documents: You will need to provide various documents, such as a passport, birth certificate, and marriage certificate to present to the Israeli authorities. Make sure you have copies of all necessary documents.

Living arrangements: other than researching schooling for children, job research or arrangements, and much more, living arrangements can be one of the most important facets in the process of moving to Israel.
